Freeman Homes Sponsor Fry Club Junior Football Club

Speaking about the sponsorship, Ryan Auchterlonie, the under 12s manager said, “Kit sponsorship is very important for grass roots football. We don’t really want to ask the parents to pay for kit as that would be difficult to manage and an expense that might put off some families that want their children to get involved. So it is very important that local businesses come forward. Freeman Homes has generously stepped up to the plate and the club is very grateful and excited to unveil the new kit.

“The under 10s team has done really well in recent years, winning their league in the 2012/13 season. The lads will feel so much more positive in their new kits and we are confident it will spur them on to repeating that success in the coming season.”

Luke Freeman, Joint Chief Executive of MF Freeman said, “Fry Club Juniors FC plays on the grounds of the Somerdale site, which also features the former Cadbury factory, so when we heard they were looking for kit sponsorship we were only too happy to help out. The football club is very important to the local community and offers youngsters a fantastic opportunity to get into the sport. We have been particularly impressed by the work the club has done to build successful girls’ teams. It will be great to see the under 10s team take the field in their new kits next season and we will be watching their progress with enthusiasm.

“The sponsorship is also another way for Freeman Homes to give something back to the wider Keynsham community. Response to the redevelopment of the former Cadbury factory site into a high quality mixed use that includes a retirement community of 120 assisted living apartments and a 105-bed care home, as well as a restaurant, leisure suite, hairdressing salon, pharmacy, GP surgery, and 100,000 square feet of office space and retail outlets, has been excellent, and as a company we always work to ensure our projects work for the benefit of everybody. We are delighted that the scheme will be delivered by leading Bristol based charity St Monica Trust who share our vision for high quality retirement villages. The redeveloped site will be a huge benefit to Keynsham.”
