'Is the grass green in Gloucestershire?' April Fool's Day press release:

Artist's impression of Freeman Homes grass covered homes

Despite being designed to deliberately blend in, the new Freeman Homes' development of residential houses coming soon to a small village in Gloucestershire will no doubt stand out.

The homes will be covered entirely in high quality artificial grass, bar the windows and entrances. Inspiration has been taken from the stunning country setting that will become home to the collection of detached and semi-detached, two and three-storey homes. The surrounding expansive open green spaces spurred the innovative design which has been thoroughly tested to withstand all weather conditions.

Not just designed to blend in seamlessly with the surrounding landscape, the grassy exteriors also act as a visual statement in support of sustainability – something which is evident in many signature aspects of a Freeman Home, including timber frame construction, wet underfloor heating, instant boiling water taps and woodburners.

Speaking of the new project which has recently received planning approval, Freeman Homes' joint CEO, Luke Freeman, says the team is excited to get started with what is likely to be its most interesting development to date.

“We’re proud to be different and we mean this in all respects," says Luke, "delivering superior homes, exceptional customer service and where we see fit, creative solutions such as this ‘inspired by the environment’ development of homes.”

London-based luxury artificial grass specialists, GRASSify, will be supplying and installing the grass for this development. The company has previously worked with Freeman Homes to cover ‘Lawna’ – the house builder’s mobile sales office. Joe Mehdawi, GRASSify CEO comments, “We are very excited about the opportunity of working together again with Freeman Homes and taking the concept of green living to the next level. We very much hope that this grassy project will be a first of many across the UK and look forward to putting GRASSify’s name on the map in Gloucestershire.”
